Black Friday broadband deals have started early
Black Friday is Friday 27 November this year, but Black Friday broadband sales are already running. Providers are counting on you glancing at a low monthly price and signing up without reading the rest. Doing nothing is their favourite customer behaviour, so a few minutes of checking now is worth it.
Virgin Media and Sky have both launched their Black Friday broadband offers. The prices below come from the two providers’ own pages, read on 6 November 2026. They can differ at your address, so check with your postcode before you order.
What Black Friday broadband deals are on offer?
Here is what the two big launches look like.
- Virgin Media broadband only: Gig1 at £26.99 a month, M500 at £24.99, M350 at £21.99, M250 at £21.99 and M125 at £23.99. All are 24 month contracts for new customers, and the sale ends on 6 December 2026.
- Virgin Media switching credit: up to £300 in bill credit for new customers leaving another provider, matching the early exit fees you actually paid, up to that cap.
- Sky broadband: Full Fibre 150 at £23 a month, Full Fibre 500 at £26 and Full Fibre Gigafast, up to 900Mbps, at £28. Sky says broadband customers pay £0 upfront rather than the usual £19.95. Its deals pages show a 24 month minimum term.
- Sky with TV: Essential TV with Full Fibre 500 at £32 a month, down from £35, and Ultimate TV with Full Fibre 500 at £40, down from £41.
- Sky timing: Sky says its broadband offers run until 2 December 2026, and its new customer TV and TV with broadband deals until 9 December.
One oddity in the Virgin list is worth a second look, because it is not a misprint.
Why is M125 more expensive than M350 at Virgin Media?
Because the discount is deepest in the middle of the range. On Virgin’s own Black Friday page, M125 costs £23.99 a month while M350, which is nearly three times faster, costs £21.99. M250 is also £21.99.
So the cheapest broadband on the page is not the slowest one. If you were about to take M125 to save money, you would pay £2 a month more for a fifth of the speed. Over a 24 month term that is roughly £48 handed over for a slower connection. Read the whole table before you pick the entry level option.
Why is the Black Friday broadband price not the full story?
Two separate things push the price up, and the headline shows neither.
The first is the annual rise. Virgin Media says that for contracts taken out after 2 October 2025, your monthly price rises by a fixed £4 each April. Contracts taken between 9 January and 2 October 2025 rise by £3.50, and older ones by RPI plus 3.9%. Other providers have their own annual rises, so check the terms before you sign.
The second is what happens when the promotional period ends. Virgin Media publishes the price you move to from month 25 alongside each deal, and the step up is much bigger than a single April rise:
- Gig1: £26.99 now, £40.24 from month 25.
- M500: £24.99 now, £37.94 from month 25.
- M350 and M250: £21.99 now, £34.49 from month 25.
- M125: £23.99 now, £36.79 from month 25.
Those month 25 figures are Virgin Media’s own published prices at today’s rates, and the April rises apply during the contract on top of the monthly price you started on. The point is simple: a deal advertised at £26.99 is not a £26.99 deal for as long as you stay. Diary the end date and renegotiate.
Speed and availability matter too. Sky’s fastest packages are only available in some areas, so they will not be an option on every street. The fastest tier on a headline is no use if the network is not at your door.
Is a Black Friday broadband deal worth switching for?
It can be, as long as the whole contract still looks good once the April rises, the month 25 price and any exit charges are counted. A cheap first month tells you very little about month 20.
If you are still in contract with your current provider, find out what leaving early would cost before you get excited. Virgin Media’s switching credit is designed to help with that, and it comes with conditions worth reading first:
- It matches the early termination fees you paid, up to £300, and is paid as account credit with no cash alternative.
- You have to send proof of your final bill from your old provider, and that bill must be no more than 30 days old when you order.
- Your early termination fees must have been paid in full.
- It does not apply to student contracts, 30 day rolling contracts or Essential broadband.
- You have 60 days from your service going live to claim, and Virgin says the credit should appear within 28 days of a successful claim.
If you are out of contract, you have more freedom. Our guide to broadband contract change rights explains what a provider can and cannot do to your deal midway through, which is useful context before you commit to 24 months.
What should you check before you sign up for Black Friday broadband?
A short checklist beats a long regret. Before you accept any Black Friday broadband offer, run through these.
- Your current end date. Check when your contract ends and what an early exit would cost.
- The speed at your address. Providers show what is available once you enter your postcode, and it can differ from the advert.
- The price from month 25. Ask what you move to when the promotional period ends, not just what the April rise adds.
- Set up costs. Sky lists £0 upfront on broadband against a usual £19.95, so check whether the plan you want has it.
- The whole price list. As the Virgin table shows, a faster tier is sometimes cheaper than a slower one.
- The offer end date. The deals above are time limited, so check the date for the plan you want.
Key takeaways
- Virgin Media and Sky both launched their Black Friday broadband sales on 5 November.
- At Virgin Media, M350 at £21.99 is cheaper than M125 at £23.99 and far faster.
- Virgin publishes a month 25 price, for example £40.24 on Gig1, on top of a fixed £4 rise each April.
- Check your exit charges, and the switching credit conditions, before leaving a current contract.
What if Virgin Media is already your provider?
If you are already with Virgin Media, the new customer deals above are not aimed at you. Virgin Media’s own Black Friday page says these prices are for new customers only. We covered what existing customers can ask for in our post on Virgin Media renewal offers, and the same logic applies this week: ask what your renewal price is before you accept it.
Sky does list separate existing customer prices, at £21 for Full Fibre 150, £25 for Full Fibre 500 and £27 for Gigafast, so it is worth asking rather than assuming you are locked out.
Black Friday broadband is a good prompt to check where you stand, even if you decide to stay put. Most people never do, and that is exactly what suppliers bank on.
Frequently asked questions about Black Friday broadband
- When is Black Friday in 2026?
- Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026. Some providers have started their offers earlier.
- Are Black Friday broadband prices cheaper than normal?
- Not always. The advertised monthly price can be lower than the standard price, but it depends on the plan, your address and what you move to at month 25, so compare the full cost over the contract.
- Can I get a Black Friday broadband deal if I am already a customer?
- Virgin Media says its Black Friday prices are for new customers only. Sky publishes separate existing customer prices. Either way it is worth asking your provider for a better renewal price.
- How long do the Black Friday broadband offers last?
- Virgin Media says its sale ends on 6 December 2026. Sky says its broadband offers run until 2 December and its new customer TV deals until 9 December. Check the end date for the specific plan.
- Does Sky sell a 5Gbps package in the sale?
- Sky names a Full Fibre 5 Gigafast+ product in the small print of its deals page, but publishes no price, setup fee or contract length for it. Ask Sky directly rather than relying on a figure from elsewhere.
