What is Vodafone TV, and what does it cost?
Vodafone TV is a new set-top box and service from Vodafone, launched on 2 October. It’s available to Vodafone customers with a mobile or broadband plan, and Vodafone says plans start from £10 a month. Everything below comes from Vodafone’s own release, so treat it as what Vodafone says, not a verdict.
There are three levels. Vodafone TV on its own is £10 a month. Vodafone TV Essential adds Netflix and HBO Max for £17 a month. Mobile customers can also add a Vodafone Entertainment plan with Disney+ or Prime to make Vodafone TV Ultimate, at £25.50 a month.
Every plan includes Freely, which Vodafone says brings over 70 live channels without a dish or aerial, plus 150 or more extra channels and 300 or more games. Other apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
What is the Vodafone TV broadband offer?
Until 28 October 2026, Vodafone says any new customer who takes a Pro Broadband package gets Vodafone TV Essential at no extra cost. It’s included for the first 24 months of the Pro Broadband contract. Without the offer, Vodafone TV Essential is £17 a month.
Vodafone also says customers on its Together plans, with an existing Pay Monthly mobile line, can add Pro Broadband and TV with a further £4 monthly saving. Vodafone puts the total for Pro Broadband plus Vodafone TV Essential at £35 a month in that case.
The release doesn’t give the standalone price for Pro Broadband, so we can’t tell you how that compares with other providers. That’s the number to find out first.
Does Vodafone TV cover early exit fees?
Vodafone says that customers switching to Vodafone TV and Broadband will get a credit on their account of up to £300 towards early leaving fees. “Up to” matters. It’s a credit, not a guarantee that your old provider’s exit fee is wiped.
The release points to terms and conditions for the detail. Before you rely on it, find out what proof Vodafone needs, when the credit lands, and whether it’s only for certain broadband plans. Then compare it with what your current provider would charge you to leave.
Vodafone also says it uses One Touch Switch, the system that handles the broadband move in one go. We explained how that works in our One Touch Switch guide.
Is Vodafone TV worth it compared with other TV bundles?
It depends on what you pay now. Vodafone’s own research, which it quotes in the release, says 40% of people feel they pay for TV services they don’t regularly use, and that 35% haven’t changed TV provider in the last five years. That’s a survey from the company selling the box, so keep that in mind, but the question is a fair one for any bundle.
Add up what you spend each month on TV, streaming and any channel packs you keep out of habit. Then compare it with the full price of a bundle, not just the first year. If the Netflix and HBO Max tiers matter to you, check which plan level is included, because the release doesn’t say.
The free Essential offer is tied to a 24 month Pro Broadband contract. So before you sign, check what the broadband costs after any introductory period, whether the price can rise during the contract, and what it costs to leave early. Our broadband contract check walks through those questions.
BT has also relaunched its TV offer this month, and we looked at that in our BT TV relaunch guide. Our guide to whether broadband and TV bundles are worth it covers how to compare them.
